Erich and Kristen came over for dinner at our house. They got to see Trenton's new trick of sitting. We wore Trenton out with his 6 month photography session in the morning that he had such a great day of napping for the remainder of the day. The last one was the longest one ever....3 1/2 hours! He was ready to play full force once he woke. He squealed with delight all evening long playing and was perfect at the dinner table.
Then, Trenton was hilarious with Mr. Erich. He absolutely loved his face! He kept staring in his eyes and grabbing his cheeks. Then he'd grab his mouth. The best part was when I ask Trenton where his nose was? Immediately Trenton reached up and grabbed Mr. Erich's nose, catching us all off guard. Of course, Mommy thinks we have a brilliant baby who knew exactly what he was doing but Daddy laughs thinking it was only coincidence. We will let you decide.
We even let him stay up past his bed time because he was so happy and well rested! What a fun night with good friends! We know it'll only be more fun when Trenton has his little playmate!

Watch Me Sit!
Mommy was doing the laundry and sat Trenton on a blanket. We had been doing this a lot lately but most of the time he would topple to one side or the other so we would have to sit right next to him on the floor. However, he really didn't need me anymore. He balance was so good. Looks like he has finally mastered the art of sitting on his own! Way to go, Trenton!
He actually prefers to be sitting now. You can see him straining to pull himself from a propped position against a pillow upright. We typically have to help by giving him a little push at this stage. And yes, there still are a few crashes every now and then but I guess that can be expected.

Enjoying Nature on the Houseboat
It was the hottest weekend this year up on Center Hill Lake. However, we were still able to take the houseboat out for an evening cruise. In front of us, we watched the sunset. Behind us, we watched the full moon rise. Both were absolutely gorgeous! It was as if the beams from both reached out toward the boat as they reflected off the water. The weekend certainly reminded us of the beauty that surrounds us!
Mommy and Daddy enjoying the twilight cruise. Trenton was already in bed. The time difference always gets the best of him up at the houseboat.

Trenton loves PaPaw's "Pony Boy" song.
Driving long distances has recently become challenging because Trenton doesn't like his car seat for extended periods of time. Daddy let Trenton "drive" at one of our stops.
On the drive home to Atlanta, we saw an enormous rainbow, and were once again, reminded how gorgeous nature can be.

Trenton meets the Leskovens!
Next stop, Corsicana, Texas, home of the Leskovens. Now it was time to introduce Trenton to Opa's side of the family. Trenton loved meeting Uncle Les (Opa's brother) and Mommy's cousins, Laura, and Andrew (and we can't forget Sonny the dog and Milo the cat.) We were also glad Aunt Carolyn (Opa's sister) could drive over from Houston to visit for the weekend.
It was a nice weekend of catching up! Although Trenton seemed to be the center of attention when he was awake, we also enjoyed playing Pictionary, going to the movie Inception, and walking the Corsicana neighborhoods and downtown area.
All good things have to come to an end. Before we knew it, we were back at the airport ready to fly home to Atlanta. Time certainly speeds up on vacation--it's so sad!
Trenton with Andrew
Trenton loved the St. Augustine grass and would march in place as his little feet touched it.
It is hard to keep him on a blanket anymore. He rolls and twists and before you know it, is off it.
Look what I can do!
Trenton was more interested in Sonny than eating.

Trenton visits the Maddens!
Trenton's first stop was Plano, Texas where Granna's sister Aunt Jan and Uncle Jim lived. There was a surprise awaiting us when we got there--Trenton's 1/2 birthday cake! They have a neat tradition in their family. The grandparents celebrate the half birthdays with their grandchildren since the kids are usually busy around their actual birthdays with parties and friends. So, Trenton had his first party!
Everyone had fun taking turns playing with Trenton. The Madden girlies, Ashley, Emily, and Kelsey, were a big help with Trenton. They also had a toy to give him and a smiling face for him to look at. We enjoyed swimming in the pool, playing gin, and relaxing around the house at Aunt Mimi and Uncle PaPa's. (Since the girlies called them Mimi and PaPa, we just added the aunt and uncle to it to make it easy.) Jay, Kim and the girlies had us over one day for dinner and then we went fishing that evening. Also, Jennifer and Andy invited us out to their house for PaPa's 68th birthday.
Trenton enjoyed the trip and can't wait to go back!

We love family get togethers!

"Big Baby Boy!" Who knew those three words were so soothing for Trenton. Jay had the magical touch--perfect angle, adequate bounce, and most soothing words to relax and entertain Trenton. It was not the easiest task to keep him up past his bedtime (time difference.)
Fishing near Jay and Kim's
No luck with the fish, but it was a fun evening together.
