Honey Do List Check Off

Kevin worked on his "honey do" list today.  He converted Bennett's crib into a daybed so Bennett could get up as he please when he wakes up.  Then, he hung some of Trenton's artwork in the playroom.  It was nice to have a little free time this weekend to accomplish these tasks!
Reading up on how to convert the crib, and somehow we found all the piece and manuals through our move.
We didn't convert it with Trenton because by this time, Bennett had already been born and was sleeping in the crib.
Bennett absolutely loves his new bed (as he calls it.)
Except for sleeping the very first night.  :)  Thankfully, since night 1, B has slept in his bed no problem.
Trenton thought Bennett was "lucky" getting to sleep on the floor so we told him he could to if he'd rather.  Little do they know they were carried to their beds soon after falling asleep.
Kevin aligning Trenton's safari pictures.  He loved learning about an app so his phone could be a level.

Zoo with Miller Boys

A playdate at the zoo with our friends The Millers while the Daddy's had baseball evaluations.
We treated them to the winds of the African Savannah this trip.  I know Trenton is going to ask to do it everytime now.  They loved it!

What a fun day with our buddies!  Kellan, Trenton, Rylan and Bennett!

Work Friend

My running buddy, Brittany, from work and apparently my twin today.  So funny that we ended up dressing so alike this Friday!  Haha!

5 Year Old Well Check

Trenton had his well visit today at the doctor's office.  All looked good. He's 40 lbs even and 3 ft 6 in tall.  We received final vaccinations for kindergarten--yes, he starts kinder in the fall, and his hemoglobin from his heel prick was 14.4, which was wonderful.  Now that he is 5 and his umbilical hernia hasn't close, we have been referred to a pediatric surgeon.  We have an appointment there in February and will learn if the hernia is small enough to cope with or if he'll need surgery.

As you see from pictures, we are still in pajamas.  It was pj day at Trenton's preschool.  Bennett announced, "Me too!" that morning so both kids were wearing R2D2 jammies around Marietta.  People probably thought I just didn't get my kids dressed this morning.  Haha!
Receiving his A+ report card from Dr. Clements.
Playing with possibly the best toy ever from a fast food restaurant.  These building things have gone everywhere with us the past year and they are so much fun to create and imagine with.
Back at Granna's for the rest of the day while Mommy and Opa attend a funeral for a family friend.  Granna and Bennett made Stitch out of playdough.

Fickle Tuesday

You know it is a Tuesday when we are a the Fickle Pickle!  We invited Erich and Graysen to join us for dinner and were delighted they could make it.  Dinner on the patio was unexpected this mild January day, but we were glad to be outside.  By the way, Trenton has only taken that vest off to sleep, bath and during school hours in the past 3 days.  I think it was a birthday hit! :)
We never skip their sweet shack in the back!

Zoo Then Home on MLK Day

So the zoo seems to be gorgeous every MLK day.  Thank goodness because we love this mid-winter fun.  We went with Granna and Opa and casually made our way by the animals and children's section.  Once home, we napped and continued to enjoy the nice day.
We feed the flamingos first, then make our way into the African Savannah area.  No changing our routine!  The Wagers' boys are creatures of habit!
Maybe we shouldn't have taught Trenton this Pringle trick??
 Brushing the goats with Granna.
Climbing the rock wall for the first time now that he's over 42 inches.
We love our daytrips with Granna and Opa!!!  There's no better way to spend those retired day, huh?!
Trenton did not nap his usual long nap this afternoon, so he and I played outside while waiting for Bennett to wake up.  It was too beautiful!  He loves his new dodgeball birthday present!
This is our workerman tree.  I wish we could climb it, but it's too high.  However, we can reach branches on our stool.  You can typically find the boys out by it if they are in the "building" mood.
Sawing, hammering and screwing.......what a worker!
We got to see yet another awesome sunset through our back woods.  We have the best view being slightly higher than our back neighbors and the position our house faces.

Church-Lunch-Basketball

This is our Sunday winter routine.....church, lunch, basketball. We grabbed lunch at the Australian Bakery between church and basketball today.  Then, GiGi stayed in town to watch Trenton's basketball game.
Eating at the Australian Bakery in the Marietta Square.
Playing basketball in the family life hall at church.
GiGi on the sidelines with Bennett cheering Trenton on.
Daddy coaching the team and Trenton listening.  They practice the first 30 mins, then scrimage 3 on 3 the second 30 minutes.

Catch Air Star Wars Birthday Party

Trenton had his 5th birthday party at Catch Air, an indoor playground nearby.  With grandparents and friends, we celebrated this special boy.  It was my first birthday party letting someone else do the work.  I still have to incorporate a few unique touches, but overall, it was nice to sit back and let someone else do the dirty work.
Trenton and Bennett upon arrival and going immediately into the play area.
Bennett climbing the stairs for the playground and Trenton riding the electric car.
I love how little B looks behind the other kids climbing the enormous bouncy house slide.  He has no fear!
Of slides in general!  That's because he has one rowdy older brother to show the way!
So cute....going together to slide and holding hands!
 Here comes Trenton!!
Catch Air.....the all time BEST indoor playgound.  It is clean, safe with invisible stamping, and fun for all!
 From bounce houses......
 To inflatable slides......
 To climbing playgrounds......
 and moving ride on toys.
Bennett swinging on the carousel.  Hold on tight!

 Jumping in the ball pit.
Climbing on the soft play section with Timmy from preschool and Erich.
Riding in circles waiting for PaPaw.
 Dance floor party for Trenton!
 With bubbles and Buzz Lightyear!
Grabbing hands and working up and sweat to the beat of the music.
The birthday crowd.....for the most part (Millers, Schappelers, Vasells, Rutkowskis, Subers, Daters, Petersens, Cornishs, Burnharts, and McKenzie!)
The birthday boy with Buzz Lightyear and then Bennett joined them for a second picture!
Birthday room and banner.....I always have to make a banner.  :)
 Star Wars invitation
Darth Vader fighting Luke Skywalker on the birthday cake picked out specifically by Trenton himself.
Eating pizza.....
 Mingling.....
 Resting.......
 Before cake time!
 Blowing out the candles.
Trenton and Bennett played characters with the cake decorations afteward.
Eating cake and then hitting the playgound again!
Party favors: Star Wars note pad, markers, pencils, erasers and Pez dispenser.  I love dollar finds!
Opening presents back at the house.
Bennett is a good assistant, and Trenton was sweet and let Bennett open one of his presents.
Hootin' and hollerin' over a cool spiderman toy.  Gearing up in the dodgeball vest right away.
