6 Month Birthday!

Trenton turned 6 months! It's unbelievable how fast time flies--I know I say it all the time, but it is the truth! According to his 6 month check-up, Trenton weighs 16 lbs 6 oz and his length is 25 1/2 in. That puts him in the 30% for weight and 50% for height. We are lucky; he is a healthy baby boy!

Big boy has accomplished so much again this month. Perhaps one of his biggest achievements was teeth! He has two bottom teeth now. He still loves give kisses (lots more these days!) and play "getcha"; however, his version covers you with saliva and now the gnawing can catch you off guard with the teeth. We are trying to break him of the gnawing part, which is extremely difficult since he loves to chew on anything he can get his mouth on. He also has started blowing raspberries on you, which is something we did to him since he was little. Babies certainly learn from you, don't they?!

One of Trenton's favorite hangouts is his crib. Hey, we're not going to complain! He constantly is rolling around in his crib playing. He absolutely loves to roll onto his back after he wakes up and play. Sometimes he does this right when you put him down and then awhile later after he tires himself out, he can't figure out how to get back to his stomach. You may need to go help the little guy. So funny--he's much better going from stomach to back! It still amazes us how he can stay in his crib forever just talking and scratching his bumper. You wonder what is going on in that little mind of his. I'm so glad we have a pattern on the bumper because I'm sure that is what catches his attention and keeps him entertained. He's even been known to wake up at wee hours and play for about half an hour before drifting off to sleep again. It makes us laugh.

Solid foods have become more regular these days. Pears are his favorite followed by apples and squash. It is taking him a while to get used to bananas and prunes, although he will still eat them somewhat. On the other hand, he does not like green beans right now. We will keep trying them every so often, but the faces he makes and the cries definitely tells us a couple bites is enough!

He definitely recognizes his Mommy and Daddy better now. He looks around the room for you when he hears you talking and gives a cute little grin as his eyes catch yours. Sometimes I think he gets sick of my face by the end of the day since it's been the two of us for the majority of the time. When Daddy gets home, he instantly lights back up. He likes to go to his Daddy and play for a brief while before heading to bed. Most nights Trenton is in bed by 7:30/7:45. Unfortunately Daddy really just gets to help with the bedtime routine before we put him down, but it is good quality time together. Trenton loves staring into his eyes as he talks silly to him or makes funny faces.

I don't know what we would do without the exersaucer! It is a life saving! Trenton loves playing with all the toys circling him. I usually have his favorite TV show, Curious George, playing in the background and he occasionally glances up at the screen before going back to playing. He gets so excited sometimes and is practically bouncing in his seat as he pushes off the floor. One of the cutest things he does all the time now is reach for you to lift him up. It is more obvious in the exersaucer than when lying in the crib or on a blanket. You know immediately that he wants out. I love this reaching!!!!! (I have to credit Granna. I think she taught him that!)

Trenton is so close to sitting up by himself but hasn't quite accomplished it. He last for no more than thirty seconds before toppling one way or the other. The balance will come more with time. Nevertheless, he's made progress towards it and I'm sure we'll have it down within the next month.

Playdates are a regular part of our week. We usually have lunch or go on walks with friends a few time a week. Some of Trenton's current friends are the twins Hudson and Sawyer, Will, Rylan, older Hudson, and of course, his cousins Riley and Chase. Trenton is the youngest out of all of these, but not by much, so more often, he watches the other kids as they sit or crawl. Before we know it, he'll be into everything so we are just enjoying these days while we still have them!

We actually just had our first baby boot camp stroller workout today. It was a lot of fun. Trenton may have been the only baby to fall asleep for part of it but it was during his morning nap time. Our stroller group consisted of Kinsey with Hudson and Sawyer, Angel with Will, Annemarie with Madeline, Allison with Lauren, and Jessica with Zach and Andrew. We look forward to having more of these workouts!

Trenton is excited to be 6 months!

That is a mischeivious look. Are you about to do something sneaky?

Yep, I'm reaching for something to grab....

....and then of course, put in my mouth!

Trenton and his present--a new sippy cup with handles to hold and a soft spout to chew. He certainly knows what to do with it.

He looks like he's enjoying himself as he watches Curious George.

Oh no, something upset him with the sippy cup. We can't figure out if he can't get the water, its too exhausting to hold, or he simply doesn't like it, but he is definitely frustrated with it after no time at all!
