At the Zoo

For Christmas, we gave Granna a season pass to the zoo. We just knew she would love to take Trenton there since her children enjoyed the zoo so much when they were younger. So, as the first outing there, we all decided to go. The weather was perfect and the park offered lots of shade. It was perfect for a 1 year old boy. He could wander around aimlessly, although we had to watch out for the on coming traffic of legs at times so he wouldn't get knocke over, then want to be held to see something. We managed to see it all.....the pandas, the elephants, the gorillas...you name it. Atlanta's zoo has tons to offer!

Trenton liked popping his head through the face holes for various animals.

In the parakeet house, Granna and Trenton were still enough for a parakeet to land and eat their "seed stick." Trenton watched in amazement!

Trenton in the petting zoo was hilarious. Out of all the goats and sheep in there, of course Trenton wandered up to the one who peed and pooped right there in front of us.

Giddy up, Komodo Dragon! I think Trenton is doing "Pony Boy" on the statue. This one was perfect to climb on!

Trenton, Daddy and Willie B.....he's only a statue Trenton

Trenton loved the zoo, but he was on his last leg here. Sometimes I think he's tired of all our pictures.....I wonder what makes me think that. Hmmm.

Trenton was hilarious when we tried to get a picture with Granna and Opa. He wrapped his arms around Granna's face and pulled her to him. I think he was delirious by this point. Good thing we were back at the beginning and about to leave for the day.

Allison Visits

Mommy and Trenton both enjoyed Allison's visit to Georgia. It was great to catch up with her and hear how wonderful things in NYC are going for her. She enabled a full meal to get cooked before Trenton headed to bed. Oh, the simple luxuries!

My Sandbox

The Easter bunny brought Trenton to our house a sandbox. Trenton loves it!

Easter Sunday

Trenton woke up Easter morning at Granna and Opa's house and the Easter Bunny had come! Good thing the Easter Bunny left goodies, like this wheel barrel full of sand toys, because Trenton could care less about eggs today. We've had a slow decline of the last week: our neighborhood hunt-6, our church hunt-4, Easter morning-0. Opa even tried to show Trenton how to pick them up and put them in the basket. All Trenton cared to do was dump them out and go back to the wheel barrel. We'll give it another year, Trenton; you are still young!

Although the church was tough this morning--Trenton cried the hardest he ever has at the nursery--we thoroughly enjoyed our Easter. It was great to spend the day hanging out with not only Granna and Opa, but also Uncle Brad and Aunt Jacquelyn. (Thank goodness tax season is over!) Even more, we are thankful for our Savior and the life He promises through following Him. Happy Easter!

Church Easter Egg Hunt

Trenton had his second Easter Egg Hunt today. It was our church one, so Granna and Opa met us there to watch the festivities. Trenton was not too anxious to pick up the eggs himself, although he loved watching all the excitement of the kids around him. We got a whopping 4 eggs; however, one was a special egg and in return, Trenton got a Bruster's Icecream gift card. That is one of Mommy's favorite treats! Way to go, Trenton!

Perhaps the highlight of Trenton's egg hunt was seeing the Easter Bunny. When he caught glimpse of this creature, off he went down the grassy hill to the Bunny. Trenton was in awe of the gigantic bunny and watched curiously as he hugged, high fived, and took picture with kids.

Is it time yet? You'd think he'd take off fast for the eggs with this stance, but no.

Trenton looked precious as he waited for the egg hunt to begin.

Everyone gathers around Trenton encouraging him to pick up the egg. I can only imagine what Trenton is thinking about his crazy parents and grandparents!

They show Trenton exactly where his egg goes.

Enough egg hunting, let's just walk around!

Trenton found a special egg and won a Bruster's gift card! Woohoo! That's my boy!

Granna, Trenton and Opa....I think Trenton caught sight of the Easter Bunny and is anxious to get over to him.

Trenton walked right up to the Easter Bunny. No fear in this boy!

He loved to watch the Easter Bunny interact with the children.

Granna takes Trenton to visit the Easter Bunny one more time before leaving, and Trenton gives him a big high five.

Swimming with Daddy

Daddy did the swimming class this week with Trenton, and once again, Trenton did a fabulous job. He really looks so grown up as he kicks, floats and blows bubbles around the pool. I think his favorite part may be when he gets to swim after the rubber duckies. I don't know; he's a pretty big fan of the singing and dancing pool games, too.

Hi Mommy!

Daddy and Trenton practice blowing bubbles in the water.

It was daddy day. All but one toddler had their dads in the water with them. Daddy and Trenton join Mr. Chris and Lauren.

Trenton looked so relaxed and comfortable circling the pool.

Time to jump! Daddy really has to lift him to jump in, but I think he'll be jumping himself soon. He just hasn't fully grasped the concept of how to jump in.

Trenton & Brooks

It is hard to find time to meet up with our good friends the Weekleys since we live in different states; however, we were glad they were in town for Easter weekend and able to spent the night. The parents enjoyed catching up while the boys went to bed, but because our households are early risers these days, Trenton and Brooks were able to play in the morning. They enjoyed the car ramp the best. Trenton sure enjoyed seeing his friend and showed it but chasing Brooks around to hug him. Somehow, Brooks wasn't too fond of this idea. (Trenton--you can hug on Mommy all you want!)

Gardenside Easter Egg Hunt

It was a fun weekend in Marietta. Sunday we had our neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt. Trenton really enjoyed running around and playing with the other kids, but the eggs weren't that big of a hit with him. Actually, he liked playing with the baskets the best. At least he picked up a couple eggs before his attention span moved elsewhere.

And the race is off.....

I found something......

Hmmm, what is this?

Whatever it is, they want me to keep getting them!

Mommy tries to help Trenton find more eggs.

Then Daddy tries. You'd think Trenton spotted an egg the way he took off, but no, he was trying to run down the hill playing.

Trenton and Rylan had fun trading baskets.

Trenton's first double date. (Four kids Trenton, Nora, Rylan and Madeleine were all about the same age.)

The sippy cups with straws were a big hit with the toddlers. They loved to pull the straw out and play with it, and then of course, dump the drink all over themselves.

The little crew: Maddox, Nora, Madeleine, Trenton and Rylan.

Now the parents join the 1 year olds!

Swim Lessons

We enrolled Trenton in his first swim class this spring. Each Saturday, we have a Parent/Tot class with our good friend the Haldemans. Although the class is during his 1st nap, he seemed to manage fine at his first class, not crying once. He really likes the water. We work on blowing bubbles, which Trenton thinks is hilarious to watch when Mommy does it, kicking, floating, and jumping in the water. He really catches on fast. The games and songs we sing and play at the end top off the class. Trenton smiles from ear to ear as the day wraps up. Trenton and Lauren are going to be fish by the end of May!

Trenton was completely relaxed while working on kicking with Mommy.

Mommy loved this fun time with Trenton!

Lauren liked the class, too!

He got comfortable in the water fast. He's a natural!

Time to jump in! Splash!

At the Car Wash

What better way to spend a hot day in April than washing the car?! Trenton enjoyed being just like Daddy and mimicing each and ever move--that is, for the first bit. Then, his attention quickly stuck with the water where all the fun really was. This could be a fun Sunday afternoon tradition!

Daddy gives Trenton a lesson in how to wash the car. :)

Trenton loved playing in the water.

Washing the car is hard work! Time for a break!
