Ladera-5th Anniversary

To celebrate our 5th anniversary, Kevin and I took a trip to St. Lucia.  It was our first time being away from the boys for a period of time longer than a weekend (sad!) but the 6 day break was going to be a nice, relaxing, well-needed vacation.  We also knew the boys were in the best hands possible staying with Granna and Opa so we could truly enjoy ourselves on the island.  Our resort, Ladera, was amazing!  It was an open air suite situated in the Piton Mountains and overlooking the Caribbean Sea below.  We were in complete luxury!
Kevin checks out the scene from the plunge pool in our suite.
This is the living room that opens up to the plunge pool.
Due to the 3 wall structure of the rooms, the beds had beautiful canopies drapped over them.
The bathroom was just as unique.
Opposite the open wall of our suite, was another wall of complete shutter doors.  Out on the balcony you had a nice view of the rainforest.  Those doors we kept shut but always had the wooden blinds open so that a full breeze was flowing.  It was never hot in the room due to the elevation, but the fresh air was just a nice addition, especially at night.
The pludge pool was situated directly in front of the sofa.  You could lay there and read a book, then glance up and see Pitons and Caribbean.
To the right out of the plunge pool, our view was the Petite Piton Mountain.
To our left, we had rolling hills and the Gros Piton (mountain in the background.)
Champagne and a fresh fruit platter was waiting for us upon arrival.  Yum!
Our room, T, was for True Love.....how right!
We immediately took a dip in the plunge pool, which was cooler than we hoped for the evening hours (it is heated by solar energy so warmer during the day, of course) and enjoyed our arrival treats on the tables in the pool.
Clouds rolled in soon thereafter and we had a fabulous view of a rainbow from our room.
Then, we enjoyed the darkening sky a little more before heading to the resort's restaurant for dinner.
