Oatmeal Mess

Trenton has a tendancy to reach and want whatever you have. Mommy was making oatmeal and Trenton kept reaching for the container. No harm playing with the container, right? That's what I thought until I looked down and realized he had taken the lid off and the oats were all over the floor. There will be many more instances like this, I'm sure! :)

Mommy decided it was ok for him to play in it for awhile since the mess was already there.

Happy 8th Month Birthday, Trenton!

What is happening to my little baby? He is now 8 months old, almost crawling, and full of babbles! Although Trenton still has the baby pudge, he is starting to slim out a little. We actually think this is because he is going through a growth spurt--length wise. He honestly looks like he is growing everyday! He is probably in the 18 lbs range, which I'm sure is below average like they tell us at every doctor's visit. However, there are no doctor concerns and we are happy with his weight.
The biggest accomplishment this month was probably the teeth. 4 top teeth made their appearance. Trenton handled it like a champ!
He is also so close to crawling! I feel like we've been saying that for awhile, but I really think it is coming up. He has been twisting and turning all over the place, and he even gets up on his knees to rock. When you lay him in his crib, the next time you glance at the baby monitor, he is out of sight. You end up going to reposition the video monitor. Daddy lowered Trenton's mattress this month because he'd pull on the bumper. It scared us that he'd suddenly realize he could pull himself up to the standing position. It is a matter of days before he takes off, and it is about time Mommy and Daddy baby proof the house for good!
He loves to bounce more than ever before. His doorway jumper and Granna and Opa's jumperoo are definitely favorite toys at this age. He also enjoys the pop up toys that he pushes down--kind of like a jack in the box, but with a row of characters. Something with movement seems to be right up his alley--go figure since he is full of movement himself! :)

He is such a happy baby! We are so very lucky!
Here is a good picture of my mouth full of teeth! I have 6 now!

These are just funny! He can't stay still for the picture!

First Beach Trip

Trenton went on his first beach trip to St. Simons Island, Georgia for Labor Day weekend. It was nice that Granna and Opa joined us down there, because Mommy and Daddy had Drew and Cassie's wedding. He did great on the road! I don't want to jinx it, but it appears the new carseat (and maybe the fact that he is a bit older) worked. Yay!!!

Trenton was as happy as we expected he'd be on the beach. He absolutely loves the outdoors, so our walks and beach time were nothing from the ordinary. Granna brought a blow up pool which was perfect under the tent. It kept Trenton from the sand--at least for most of the time--until he toppled over and found it. Let's just say the sand was just like every other item Trenton gets his hands on; it went straight in his mouth. His favorite part was feeling the water. Holding him up, we'd let him stand in the water. He loved the waves crashes into him and would bounce in excitement. He was so funny because he marches backward place--he's already learning to moon walk. :) We even got to the point where Mommy would sit in the water and the waves would crash into us.

During this time, Trenton was teething and got his top right tooth on Sunday. This probably messed with his sleeping schedule some--or the fact that he was in the middle of his second cold--because he was waking up in the middle of the night. It is a rude awakening for Mommy when he's been sleeping through the night since 3 months.

Eating on the go.

Sound asleep sucking on his thumb.

Playing with toys in the blow-up pool.

He loved splashing in the water.

Trenton couldn't keep his eyes off the water.

Mommy loves it when Trenton lays his head on my shoulder!

Our first beach trip as a family.

Although it was pretty overcast, we sure enjoyed the tent.

Daddy is so fun!

When Trenton found the sand, he wanted to play with it all the time.

Opa, Mommy and Trenton on our first walk the evening we arrived at the beach. He's already yawning but we just had to get out there for a short walk. (At some point he'll be begging us to stay up past his bedtime, just not right now.)

First beach trip!

Trenton is in a phase of holding onto Mommy's ponytail.

Trenton and I enjoyed our morning walks on the beach.

Sunrises and sunsets are always gorgeous at the beach.

Ready for our beach walks.

Granna and Opa took Trenton to downtown St. Simons while we were at our wedding.

Vampire Trenton

Most babies get their middle two bottom teeth, then their middle two top teeth. From there, the teeth start working their way back in the mouth. Trenton is hilarious! He got his bottom teeth two months ago, and his top ones have just surfaced....that is, his top two eye teeth. Last Wednesday, Trenton gave Mommy a big smile and she saw that his left eye tooth had popped through his gums. Interesting, right? Well, today it got even better! His right eye tooth came through. So now what do we have? A vampire! His playful bites are all making sense now! :)

Trenton smiles huge over the fact that he looks like a vampire!

Weekend Fun

Daddy had a guy's fishing trip and Trenton was in the middle of his second cold, so Mommy decided to spend the weekend with Granna and Opa. It was nice to have the helping hands since Trenton was back into waking up during the night all congested. It actually had dropped into the 80's (nice break from the 90 degree weather!) so Mommy and Opa took Trenton on a walk at Roswell Park. We also found Trenton his game day attire for college football.....gotta get ready for kick off next weekend! :)

On Sunday, we took Trenton to the nursery for the first time at church. We anticipated bringing Trenton last weekend, but that was the day he came down with his fever and cold so we had to postpone it. It was a little rough for the first time. Trenton was ready to nap before we even got there. The problem is, he is so engaged in what is going on around him that he can't sleep. When we picked him up, it was obvious the little guy had been crying. Poor thing! He fell instantly asleep on the drive home and we carried him to bed where he continued to nap for an hour and half. Hopefully the timing will be better in the future!

Trenton did learn a new trick to show Daddy when he got back. He smacks his lips all the time suddenly. Always something new!

Trenton loves Granna feeding him!

Playing on my palet.

I'm a pro in my exersaucer! I spin around in full force now!

Baths are the best with Granna!

I love relaxing on the swing and listening to the birdies.

Time for church! Poor Trenton was so happy at this point in the morning!

Saturday Mornings!

Good ol' Trenton is still an early riser. We typically bring him into bed with us on Saturday mornings and let him play with his toys. He loves playing on Mommy and Daddy's big bed. We only have a short time left of this before he's in full force and crawling.

Big Boy Car Seat

Long car rides to and from the lake and a tire baby haven't been working so well for us lately. We get on the road thinking it is the perfect opportunity for Trenton to fall asleep and nap for most of the drive. We soon find out that soothing himself to sleep is a little more difficult than we thought. So, we are experimenting with a new big boy car seat. So far, Trenton seems to like his Marathon but the real test will be on our next roadtrip.

It might be big, but little guy has no fear of his new car seat.

I like my new car seat so much, and I promise to be a happy boy everytime I am in the car! :)
