Woody Wagers

Trick or treating was so much fun this year!  Trenton was walking around and enjoying the time with his neighborhood friends.  We gathered in the park for pizza before hand and let the kids roam.  I know next year will be even better, because we only made it to a whopping 12 house.

Trenton and Rylan enjoyed going up to the houses together.
The best part was reaching up to push the doorbell.

Tailgating Treats

Trenton enjoyed his first experience of tailgate treats at our church this year.  Last year, upon arrival at church, our precious little boy dislocated his elbow getting out of the car seat, and we ended up spending the afternoon in the ER with a case of Nurse Maid's Elbow.  We were thankful nothing dramatic like that happened this year!

We arrived a little early, so Trenton was able to play on the playground.  He loves our church's playground!  Everywhere he went, his jack-o-lantern bucket was in hand.

Trenton dressed up as Woody from Toy Story.  The concept of trick or treating was a bit too much for him.  Instead of getting candy, he would give out candy from his bucket to each car he walked up to.  It was cute!  Many characters caught his eye, but Bert from Sesame Street was his favorite.  Also, the fields at church had bounce houses and that perhaps was the best part of the afternoon for him.  He did not want to leave as you can see from one of the pictures.

And sliding.......with my bucket in hand.
Back and forth, Trenton was delighted at the simple fun inside the bounce house.

He would nestle his nose up to the side in excitement as he ran to where we were watching him.
Look, it's Bert!

More bounce house fun after trick or treating.
This picture cracks me up.  Screaming and flailing his arms and legs, Trenton kicked Opa in the groan and knocked Granna's glasses.  The camera just happened to capture it all.  Needless to say, Trenton was not ready to get out of the bounce house and leave.
Daddy took Trenton through the haunted church van before we headed home.

Carving the Pumpkin

Trenton was not nearly as infacuated with carving the pumpkin as we thought he would be.  He didn't want to touch the slime or sit still long enough to accomplish the task of making the jack-o-lantern.  However, he did join Daddy for parts of the process.  He would say, "eyes, nose, mouth" and point to all facial features.  Nevertheless, Trenton did get a kick out of the pumpkin scoop.  Such a silly dude!

Fall Color Cruise 2011

To celebrate both Megan and Kevin's birthdays and enjoy the beautiful autumn weather, we took a fall color cruise on Center Hill Lake.  It was nice to have the Wagers and Leskovens together for the occasion.  After cruising down the lake for the day, we beached the boat, set up a campfire, and explored the shoreline.  The kids liked being able to roam the beach, toss rocks into the water, climb driftwood, and gather twigs for the campfire.  It was yet another enjoyable weekend aboard the Crimson Commodore.

Hiking Kennesaw Mountain

We took a family hike up Kennesaw Mountain after church today.  Trenton was a big boy walking some and then rode on Daddy's back for the remainder of the hike.  We let him hike the last stretch to the top where the cannons were lined up, however, it took quite awhile because Trenton was more occupied with the acorns than making it to the top.  With a little persuasion, we finally made it.  We had a nice view of Stone Mountain, the Marietta Square, and downtown Atlanta in the distance.  It is wonderful to have such a good hike right around the corner and to take advantage of the fall foilage this time of year!
We tried to show Trenton the cannons........
but all he cared about was gathering acorns to stack on the fence.
Daddy and Trenton take a break on the top of Kennesaw Mnt.  (Doesn't Trenton look like such a big boy in this picture?!)
We had a good view of downtown.
Time to hike back down the mountain.
And look what we came across.....the first deer of the season!  Trenton was fascinated!

Marietta Square Harvest Festival

The Square had their Harvest Festival this weekend.  Beside seeing all the scarecrows decorated the community, we enjoyed the children's activities.  The Marietta Fire Department was there, and not only did Trenton get his very own fireman's hat, but he got to meet Sparky!  He hugged, high fived, and even kissed Sparky.  He gets the biggest kick out of these dressed up characters.  Another fun thing was the bounce house.  Just like a week ago at the pumpkin patch, Trenton loved the bounce house and did not want to get out.  The funniest part was when he fell down in the crack.  He would twist and turn and frolic around trying to get himself back up.  We couldn't help but laugh.  Then, Mommy went in for the rescue.  That is when the temper tantrum began.  He did not want his Mommy to get out.  He'd say, "Tay, tay" (for stay) and then "Come 'ere" (come here.)  After I would get out, Smarty-britches would then purposely throw himself into the crack so that I would have to come back in to get him.  Needless to say, we wouldn't give in to this behavior.  Following a brief, meltdown, we were able to regroup and play in the train-ground and around the Square for almost 2 more hours (somehow!)  Isn't it amazing how the extreme emotions that can pass through kids in a matter of 5 minutes!
They call me a fireman......and that's my name.....
Makin' my way all around the town putting out old flames.  (A little tribute to Mommy's favorite George Strait song when she was 5.)
Rylan and Trenton sport their firemen hats.
Hooray for Sparky!
Bounce house fun!
Trenton and Will were wild men loving every moment.
I can't get up....I can't get up!
Why does this remind me of the kid from A Christmas Story?!
