With two Mommas and two preggers, we had a few teacher friends and their families over for a casual Kentucky Derby party this year. It was the rainest Saturday ever, though, so plans of playing cornhole and enjoying the beautiful spring did not happen. Instead, we crammed inside our little house to bet on the horse and watch the race. Stephanie (Kentucky girl) made amazing Benedictine and Craig did the mint juleps to uphold the traditions of derby. We had ginormous Kentucky Bourbon cupcakes from GiGi's Cupcakes and BBQ. Brandi won with Orb, and it was a fun night with good peeps.
Galloping around the island in the kitchen on a stick horse was not nearly as fun as galloping in the yard could have been....but it worked. Then Trenton dug into his cupcake. He laughed and mimiced his 1st birthday. We had recently looked back at pictures of it and talked about it with Bennett's birthday approaching. The kids had wedding cake ones plain and simple but still huge.
When Trenton got tired, he crawled up to snuggle with Brian and watch a show.
