We got back in town last night. Kevin and I decided not to do presents for each other since we regularly have things to do with the new house. However, there were a couple needed items he mentioned this month that he really did need, and they were for the house.....in a way. :) The boys and I headed out for a morning shopping adventure. The big goal was to pick up our pottery from the kiln at 10 am when it opened. Before hand, we'd get our Daddy shopping done. We started to Home Depot, where we were complimented for being up so bright and early. Really? We had been up for hours by this point....we just needed Daddy to leave the house for work. Chainsaw-check....Daddy would be ready to work in the woods! Next, Dunkin Donuts-breakfast treat for the boys since we had no food at our house from being out of town. Then, we went to Dick's Sporting Goods. Rain Coat-check....Daddy will now be able to take out the trash without getting drenched. It was only 9:20. There was still half an hour to kill before heading to Just Fired. Bingo....PetsMart was across the street! Trenton had always begged me to take him there, and to be honest, I hadn't been into a pet store since I was a kid. It was a slight disappointment that dogs weren't there but they did enjoy the other animals. Finally, we made it to the pottery store right before it opened. Since we were already there to pick up our Cookies for Santa masterpiece, I decided to let Trenton paint the ninja turtle he had been begging me to do. Afterall, he had been such a good shopper!
Viewing the fish at PetsMart.
Checking out the birds.
Painting leonardo. Bennett wanted to do one, too, so I found a sale snowman for him to scribble on. Trenton helped him finish it.
Their Cookies for Santa plate with finger and hand prints turned out perfect. I was so happy! Time to head home for naps. Bennett fell asleep on the drive home and Trenton went to nap as soon as we got home. Success! Momma could rest, too, with their naps at the same time today. I love these days!
