Rock Collecting

Perhaps Bennett and my most special time together is in the afternoons.  He usually wakes from his nap earlier than Trenton or doesn't go down for his 2nd one since his morning one was long or later than usual.  Bennett and I have anywhere from 1-3 hours of play.  It's our "just us" time.  It is especially hard to get this in with the 2nd child, so I'm extremely thankful for this opportunity.  Most of the time, we head outside.  It's one of his favorite spots.  Today, we went rock collecting.
Bennett exploring the yard and collecting rocks.   He had a plastic jar to place his findings in.
It turned into a nature jar, not just with rocks.  He added a layer of bark.
He was proud of his jar.  He always ends up wandering down the side stairs to the backyard.  There are lots of things back there he enjoys gathering.
To the top of his jar, he added berries.  (Balls as he calls them.  Pretty much anything round is a ball....berries, ornaments, etc.)
