We were going out of town for the 4th of July weekend, so we celebrated with some red, white and blue (.....and maybe some additional colors!) one day early on July 3rd.
We went to the splash pad and enjoyed popsicles to cool off during our picnic lunch. B and T were in charge of the flags this year. They might not be straight, but they are up and standing in our flowerbed.
Thanks to pinterest, we created firecracker artwork this afternoon.
It started out great, then it got a bit messy when the boys asked if I could add the other colors to paint with besides just blue and red. I should have never answered yes...........
It became finger paint, that accidently started to appear all over their skin.
Accidentally with Bennett, that is. Then, Trenton decided he needed army paint. Bennett joined in on that idea and soon they were completely covered.
We tried to hose them down, but we needed loofas. I'm glad it was washable!
