Reason for the Season (of Easter!)

We certainly have enjoyed the Easter season.  Trenton was curious about much more this year.  We read books about the story of Jesus and why we celebrate Easter.  He wanted the stories retold night after night.  It was a great learning experience for him.  It was amazing the questions he thought of (Why is a purple cloth on the cross?.....when we passed a church) and how his little mind worked.  He liked waving the palm branches on Palm Sunday, learning more about Jesus, and celebrating Easter with our family.  We are thankful for this day, for the life we have, for the forgiveness of sins, and for the acknowledgement of Jesus.
Trenton made this sign with Ms. Buckler.  It was so cute!
 The Easter Bunny came!
 Trenton's basket
 Bennett's basket.
The boys were excited to seeing and look through their goodies.
Bennett ready to eat his M&M candy treats.
We tell him later after lunch and he moves on the next items.....a choo-choo!!
Trenton is delighted to get a new batman.  We tend to misplace these little guys (and catwoman, the bad guy in his storybook) comes with this pack.
 The mess they created!
 Outside on the hunt.
Bennett had to hunt in his boots.
Running aroud the flower beds looking for hidden eggs.
Trenton got excited each time he would see and egg across the yard.  They thought this hole in the ground was the Easter Bunny's home.
They hollered into the hole asking the bunny to bring back more eggs.  Trenton must have learned bunnies live in burrows from school because we really had not talked about it before.  Clever little boy...and his little brother caught rigth on to it!
Tearing into the eggs....chocolate, slinkies, bouncy balls, stickers, balloons....lots of fun goodies!
Family Easter pictures in front of my parent's azealeas.
The boys with Granna and Opa after early service.
Trenton and Bennett (Easter Sunday 2014....age 4 and 1)  I'm so glad it warmed up over night so Bennett could wear his Easter Bunny John John.  It was too cold yesterday at the egg hunt.
Digging into Granna and Opa's baskets to them.
Bennett playing with Berkely after Granna's yummy brunch.
Trenton and Bennett with Aunt Jacquelyn.
They boys with Uncle Brad.  It was such a treat to spend the day with them.
Trenton playing with one of his favorite Easter toys, hist 1st bow and arrow set.
Going to bed with their flashlight friends.  We've recently started saying prayers and reading books as a family in Trenton's room.  Then, we take the boys to their own rooms (Kevin and I divide and conquer.)  The boys really like this, especially Bennett.

Brittany's Wedding

Wedding are such a joyous time!  I love them!  We were blessed to celebrate a coworkers wedding this weekend.   Brittany was a gorgeous bride and the ceremony/reception was lovely!  I like to remember unique things from wedding that make them one of a kind.  Here are my faves from hers:
1.  Antique sign with bible verse at reception entrance
2.  Specialty cocktail
3.  Sign in book was a cookbook
4.  Her wedding was April 19th, and the bible verse on the invitation and reading was 1 John 4:19 (how perfect is that?!!)

Brandi and me with the beautiful bride!

Chruch Easter Egg Hunt

Dressed for the church's Easter egg hunt.  It migth be a little muddy, but it looks like the rain will hold off.
Bennett and Trenton ready to represent Team Wagers in their age divisions!  They love finding and collecting eggs.
Pictures with the Easter Bunny.  Bennett is pretty scared of these guys.  We have to hold him.
At the horn, Trenton is off!
Bennett hesitates for only a moment before his is down in the fun!
He put his age group to shame!  That is what happens with a 2nd child.  His basket was overflowing.  His peers didn't quite know what to do.  He showed them.  The older kids had to pick up the remaining eggs because the 1 year olds couldn't do it all.  :)
So proud to have a basket full.  He continued to pick eggs up and each time a few fell out without him noticing.  That made room for the new eggs.  We thought it was hilarious, but he never noticed.  :)
Bennett learned form the best of them, his older brother Trenton!
Balloon artists at the church!  The boys were beyond themselves with all the fun activities!
 Gearing up!
Hi-ya! Hats, swords and belts!  They are ready for battle!
It seems everywhere we go the boys somehow find/make swords.
Trenton might be growing up fast, but his still my little boy who loves to give hugs!
Bennett was excited to eat his cross lollipop from his goodie box.  The church gathered cereal donations at this event.  There was no better fitting cereal than Life for the ocassion.

Soccer Sundays

Soccer Sundays has been our theme this spring.  We had two games this weekend, though, because we were making up one canceled because of rain.  The good thing was, GiGi was in town to watch it.
Trenton and Coach Daddy......soccer 2014 Lightning
 Bennett is his #1 fan!
 Daddy giving Trenton pointers.
 Then, showing him moves.
Trenton, Jack and Eli practicing the skills of dribbling.
Trenton is one of the best dribblers on the team.  He really has good control of the balls and awareness of the boundries now.
One of the kids favorite game is hiding their eyes, then dribbling to find the coach.
 Listening to the coach.
Gametime!  At this age and in this league, they scrimmage the 2nd part of the hour.  It's usually 4 on 4.  Trenton is in the middle of the pack of girls dribbling the ball.
He makes a steal and heads to the goal.
Way to go!  Coach Daddy encourages his players.
