Cobb Safety Village

The Cobb Safety Village put on a wonderful Family Fun Day today.  We got there when it open to avoid the heat and had fun exploring the various emergency vehicles present.  There were mascots (Trenton's all time favorite thing!), games, trucks, gear/uniforms and an arts and craft project.  The entire day was to promote safety and remind kids of how to stay safe, especially in the summer.
Bennett in the car.  Always buckle up!
Trenton with hawkeye....I can't remember who he is??  Bennett was scared of the mascots.....at this point.  Trenton up in fire engine.
Wandering through the ambulance and trying on the search and rescue (scuba gear) communication system for the team members.
Bennett and the robot they send in for the bomb squad.
The 90lb uniform and K9 team doing their demonstration.
Playing games to win prizes.  We are good at cornhole.....see Trenton's going through the hole?

Puppetry Arts Center and Varsity

While our friends, The Powells, were back in town from Texas, they invited us to go to the Puppetry Arts Center downtown.  We had a great time sitting front row to watch The Cat in the Hat and then grabbing a bite to eat at the Varsity afterwards.  We miss seeing them regularly but are glad we get to catch up whenever they are back in town!
Trenton putting on a puppet show prior to The Cat in the Hat.  Granna went with us to the show.
All 5 boys......too hard to get them all to look at once, but they looked cute in their Varsity hats!

Road to Omaha!

I have fond memories of watching the college world series with my dad growing up.  I would watch Huston Street come in from 3rd to close out Texas games, UGA pull off a fabulous run to then get upset by another set of Bulldogs (Fresno State) when they were ahead in the championship game count 1-0, I actually have heard of Cal State Fullerton, and I still swear to this day Augie Garrido was in Bora Bora at our resort during our honeymoon.  June is all about baseball, and thankfully, my boys have really been into it as well. We play it in the yard with a set of Dollar Store bases, have been watching the super regionals regularly, and dressing our finest for church.  It's the Road to Omaha!

Bday Party

We look forward to our friend, Carter's, birthday party every summer.  It's always at a cool place and on a summer day when we are looking for some mischief to get into!
Trenton and Carter eating their Kona ice from the Kona Ice Truck!  Then there was lots of playing on the Morgan Falls Overlook playground.

Water, Water Everywhere

It was a wet and wild Sunday after church today.  We put the boys in swim suits to play with the water table at 11 while we, I mean Kevin, washed the car.  When Bennett saw that, he was all about car washing.  Trenton liked to stick to the hose.  That was more fun to him, so needless to say, the grass got a good watering this day.  We napped and went to the pool in the afternoon.  Because Trenton did such a fabulous job swimming, we decided to take the boys for Bruster's ice cream.  What a fun family day!
Cooling down with the water table.
Trenton loved to fill it up (and also spray the car.)
 Soon, the car washing began.
Bennett loved using the sponges.  He's always been one to wipe things down and play pretend.
Dressed in jammies, we grilled out.  Notice the tongs in the back of their shirts.  Bennett was acquired Trenton's ninja tendencies so grilling and ninja turtles went hand in hand.
Bennett grills on his grill while Daddy cooks our steaks!  He's learning from the best of them!  Bruster's came after this yummy dinner.

Buds 4 Life!

When our old neighbors and we moved, our new homes were luckily still close.  We knew we'd get together for playdates and dinners.  Somehow time has gotten away from us.  It's been almost a year and we've only gotten together a handful of times.  Schedules become crazy....hopefully our monthly dinner intentions will be successful from here on out.

Hammer and Nail

We also love Home Depot workshop Saturdays.  We made tractor lawn mowers today.  We tie our trips into shopping projects, too, so we bought a staple gun and extra screen so Daddy could fix Trenton's bug box.  Two rough years had led to puncture wounds.  :)
