Thanksgiving

We enjoyed Thanksgiving this year up in Tennessee with Kevin's family.  Since the weather was really nice, the kids were able to enjoy playing outside.  Trenton loves Riley and Chases' roller coaster.  He'd fly down the driveway, even pulling up his hands to show off how he could do it no handed.  No one even told him or showed him how to do this.  He was the only kid doing it.  Then, at times, he ride it backwards just to get a kick out of you.  Again, Trenton thought of this all on his own--such a natural risk taker always up for an adventure!  I think he's going to ask Santa for one of these this Christmas!

We have a lot to be thankful for and we were reminded of that yet again this year. At the table we shared memories of Thanksgiving.  We also shared with our family this weekend our big news of Trenton being a big brother by sending puzzles to relatives who we were not able to spend the holiday with.

On Friday, we went to Opryland to see the lights.  The nativity display outside was the best part.  We liked seeing the statues of people and animals as well as hearing the story of Jesus.  Trenton received a little bump on his head after tripping inside the building.  He hadn't had one of those in quite awhile, but it never surprises us when he gets one.

We had such a long drive back home that Sunday.   The beautiful weather turned stormy.  The trip, that usually takes less than 4 hrs was double that.  Needless to say, we made it home safely and that is all we can ask for.

Trenton and the roller coaster.
He's even cute when crying!  I think this was the part when he wanted us to push it back up the ramp, but we wouldn't give in.  If you do it once, he learns to work the system!  :)

Hula hoops are fun activities for Trenton.  Although he doesn't really hula it, he likes to play with them.
Trenton followed Riley around the backyard like it was game.

Pink Pig

Trenton and I started a family tradition this year.  It was to go see the famous Pink Pig at Lenox Mall.  Every year during the holidays, Macy's has the attraction that delights little ones.  Now, I didn't quite know what I was in for.  Waiting in line with an impatient toddler was almost too much to handle.  Trenton thought it was a game as he'd run away from me, but you try holding a a squirmy practically two year old.  That isn't much fun either since he does not want to be contained.  Needless to say, we eventually bought the tickets and proceeded to ride the train.  The excitement intrigued Trenton as he led me to the festivities and directly to the gate.  Luckily, there was not a line here and we immediately were seated.  Although short, the story being told and the ride through a winter wonderland held Trenton's interest.  I was afraid the he would be upset that the ride was so short, but have no fear the costume character pig and activity around the ride was enough for him.

 This way Mommy!
 The blow up Pink Pig
My very own tickets!  He was a big boy handing them to the attendant.
Trenton gaped as the train went through the story book life of the pig.
The old fashioned ride.

Opa's Little Helper

Raking leaves is a highlight of the fall, that is, for little kids.  Trenton loves it at this age, but just wait until he is older and we have to beg him to help.  Together, Trenton and Opa raked the backyard, clearing the path to walk down.  Trenton had a good ol' time and then enjoyed jumping in the leaves at the end of a hard day's work!

This was fits Trenton perfect.  When he hears something he wonders about, he grabs his ears, and asks, "What's that?"  He is our curious little Trenton!

Like Opa, Like Grandson

You can take the boys out of Texas, but you can't take the Texas out of them! When Granna and Opa returned from their visit to Texas to see family, they brought Trenton longhorn pjs.  He wears them almost every night at their house.   So needless to say, both Trenton and Opa sport their UT attire while building blocks together.

Trenton also has a funny longhorn story that some of you may have heard before.  Opa was telling Granna and Trenton bye as they drove away for music class on a Thursday.  Trenton was performing his adorable "bye-bye, bye-bye" as he does every time anyone leaves, and then glancing down at Opa's longhorn shirt started mooing.  Yes, Trenton a longhorn is related to the cow.  What a smart boy!

Raking Leaves

Raking leaves is more fun than ever!  Trenton really enjoys jumping in them and helping Daddy clean them up.  It was hard to put down the cheerios, though!  :)

Granna and Opa's House

Trenton loves the change of scenery and his weekly slumber parties at Granna and Opa's house.  It cracks me up how anxious he is to tell me bye-bye and how excited he is to stay at their house.  It is definitely a good thing and we are lucky he is so social and comfortable in various environments.  Sure makes things easier for us!  Who could blame him?  Look at all the fun he has!

Reading books now is lots of fun for Trenton.  He really investigates the pictures.
Chillin' while watching Little Einsteins.  He loves to pat his legs and blast off with the characters in show.
 He creates fun anywhere.
This picture shocks me because Trenton looks so long!  Our baby boy is growing up too fast!
One of his favorite games is pretending to go night-night.  (You know when he's playing because he can't take the smile off his face!)
