Granna Banana and Opa Jim

I went through Granna's camera and came across several favorites. Here they are. (And funny story with the name Opa Jim. Granna always hollers "Jim" to him and Trenton months ago started saying "Opa Jim". He does it to be funny. But then, he started yelling "Megan" when I don't answer his "Momma" call. I suppose he is beginning to learn everyone's first name. Silly boy!)
Doing puzzles.
Chilling with Berkeley.
T always wants to nap on a pallet in Granna and Opa's closet.  B loves the music table.

Trenton can drive the power wheels car himself now, but staying straight is kind of difficult.  :)
Bennett is to the stage where he likes to ride in the car, too.  We love the handle with a power button to push him around.

Sleeping Over at the Grands

Since Kevin was in Telluride skiing, we packed up and went to Granna and Opa's for the night.  It seemed easiest since she was watching them the next day while I worked.  They got to experience the bedtime routine with both boys this night.  Usually, just Trenton is with them on Wednesday nights.
 Bathtime
Bennett got the royal treatment with Granna dressing him and Opa giving him his bedtime bottle.
Trenton loved the tent the next day!  There is always something fun at Granna and Opa's!
He brings toys in and out of it to play.
Almost time for us to leave....thanks for the help, Granna and Opa!  We love you!

Boys

Bennett wakes and sits up to play in his crib.  We had to lower the mattress last week because he suddenly started doing this and I was petrified he'd pull up on the rail and fall out.

Bennett is sitting and tossing a cloth block back and forth in his crib.  Nothing like catch with yourself!
Notice anything?  Trenton dressed himself after nap.  Daddy finally found his ski helmet in storage.  Trenton was excited to try it on.  Daddy leaves for Telluride in the morning.

Standing and Crawling

Bennett has come a long ways.  He's standing and crawling and loving his pop up friends!

Mix of Pix on iphone

And they said they copy you!
 Morning play while we shower.
Valentine's weekend and our family dinner at Frontera.  We just pulled out the good ol' high chair cover.  Bennett loves restuarants and is good.  We are just constantly crawling under the table getting his toys he drops.  Thank goodness for a 3 year old to help!
President's Day with the Warner kids at Catch Air.
Even Bennett can do some things now.
Our rolling and crawling king......he doesn't want to stay on his back long enough to even get his diaper changed.  Big brother to the rescue again.  He entertains him as much as possible to get the job done.  Destin tubes are also great toys!
So this is what Trenton created during the children's sermon at church.  We saw him messing with his shoe but didn't realize a masterpiece was at work.
I really don't mind our furlough days.  It's more time with the boys.  We joined our friends The Spivas for a walk at the river.  Trenton and Hudson had a perfect view of a blue herring before it flew away.  It was a beautiful morning!
Our Valentine's Day goodies....roses from a fabulous husband, homemade cards from the boys, and presents.
The latest and greatest play spot is Bennett's crib, at least to Trenton!

Summer v. Winter

I think we are missing summer.  When we went grocery shopping Trenton asked me to buy him a watermelon.  Then, he insisted it be sliced like we do in the summer.  He dug right in.  As the juice poured down his face, I could tell he loved it.  But, afterwards we went outside to play.  Bundled up in coats, the boys made a "tent" and by their smiles, I could tell the enjoyed the winter just as much.  It's the best of both seasons, I suppose.
 watermelon slices
There is nothing better than a juicy watermelon if you ask T.
Two brothers.....it's my favorite saying Trenton says every day!

Shake, Rattle and Roll

This isn't the normal use for Puffs, but Bennett does not like eating them yet.  So, he would rather shake the tub and listen to them rattle around inside the container.  The thing is, it rolls away when he drops it.  But, Bennett has fun getting down on all fours ready to go after it.  The only problem is, he needs to learn how to really crawl.  He is really good at pretending.  He gets up on all fours, rocks, then lunges into a belly flop.  From there he kicks around like a fish until he's ready to attempt again.  Turning and Scooting, he got down.   I'm not going to rush it.  Man are we going to have to baby proof this humble abode once he can really crawl.  There are Trenton's little toys everywhere!!!
How much fun can a container of Puffs really be?  Ask B....he'll say a lot!
I'm going to try.  I'm going to try.  (See that look of concentration!)  Then down on the belly.  At least it is fun to him!  :)

Going Away Party

Our neighbors, The Smiths, are going back to California.  We're sad to see such a sweet family go, but know they'll enjoy being closer to family.  We'll miss you!

Bennett, Caleb and Makena.  Bye-bye Makena!  The boys will miss you!

Neighborhood kiddos:  Jace, Caleb, Bennett, Trenton, Maddox, Kendall, Makena....all at different ages.

Quiet Play

Sick babies kept us home and inside this rainy Friday.  Trenton had so much fun building his habitat scene in his reuseable sticker book Aunt Carolyn gave him for Christmas.  We also took out our Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel game which he likes to play.Believe it or not, Trenton does like quiet play....just in moderation. :)  Overall, he is a typical active boy.
Trenton's clever mind decided to set the page up like Nemo.  He put the scuba diver down and then asked me for Nemo.  He then put Nemo right in the man's hands.  Looking at me, he told me,  "It's just like Nemo.  He's going to get him!  Ahh!"  I love his bright, active imagination!  He can connect things so well for a young child!
Trenton enjoys showing off his color skills by playing this game.  It has also helped teach him to take turns, spin and memorize tasks, and concentration while using the squirrel tongs to pick up acorns.  Great purchase!

Celebrity

I had no idea we had a little celebrity on our hands!  I googled Touch a Truck to put the date on our calendar for this year, and what do you know, there's Trenton advertising the event!  He was as excited as can be driving a truck at the event last April!  Brings me back to the day and how much fun he had!  This is why I love pictures so much--sweet, sweet memories!

Kite

There is absolutely no way of staying couped up all day.  It's just impossible or the kids go crazy.  T got a little fresh air by flying his kite when B napped.
There was plenty of wind, but in huge gusts, then nothing.  Nevertheless, it was fun flying the kite two inches from the ground.

Sweet Baby.....Amazing Big Brother!

It has been a sick month, and today our boys noses have been POURING!  No fun.  So, we opted to stay home from church, rest and not spread our germs.  Well, resting isn't necessarily in boys vocabulary.  We still played rather hard, just with tissue nearby.  :)
Superheros!  Trenton is into all superheros.  His favorites are Spiderman, Superman and Batman.  Bennett, not so much....yet, but I felt this "superhero in training" onesie was a perfect description for the little man!
Bennett likes to pull to a standing position.  He isn't quite strong enough to do it on his own, but if you help get him there, he is as happy as can be wobbling on those leggies.  He does push up on his own now into the crawling position.  It won't be long before he is off and crawling!
These two are obsessed with each other.  Trenton tries to hold Bennett often.  Bennett grabs at his face.  Trenton then scolds Bennett by saying, "No, Bennett" and Bennett just laughs at him thinking everything is play.  It's hilarious to watch.
Bennett could watch Trenton all day long and be perfectly happy. I keep thinking back to when Trenton was Bennett's age. He must have been so bored with us. Where was all the activity and excitement without an older sibling? How did we keep him entertained all the time?
Bennett is definitely interacting with toys more.  He's very curious.
Sweet baby boy.....

.....with an amazing big brother!
