Well, the flu has gotten the best of us! It was confirmed through a swab at the pediatrician's office this morning. Bennett continued to run his 105 temp, even after taking the amoxicillion for 2 days. Now that our pediatrician is open since it was after Christmas, I called the doctor and they squeezed us in. I also wanted Trenton checked by him since he was a little sniffy and coughing. Turns out, not only are they both positive for the flu, but Trenton also has a horrendous (words of the doc!) double ear infection. Bottom line, Bennett is on 4 med.....Motrin (6 hrs), Tylenol (4 hrs), Tamiflu, and amoxicillion. Trenton is on 2, Tamiflu and Cefdinir. Momma might go insane trying to remember and keep all this straight! So, pardon all our PJ pictures but we are pretty much confined to our house. We might contaminate the world. Lucky for us Christmas was yesterday. There are so many new, fun toys the boys are dying to play with!
Bennett with his bathtub hoops and Trenton with his Hot Wheel Tub Track.
Trenton sports his new robot bath towel while Bennett wears his lion one.
Bennett tries out Rody the bouncing donkey.
Trenton paints on his Crayola Color Wonder set and Bennett draws with markers.
Oh no! Momma said it's medicine time. Bennett hiding his face is actually progress. In the beginning, he locked his lips and we had to pry his mouth open. I've never seen anything like it. It was almost impossible to get his mouth open enough to stick the end of the syringe inside. He'd turn and fight it everytime. Next, we progressed to him slapping me in the face after I forced him to take his medicine. I will say, once Trenton started meds, Bennett saw that it wasn't so bad. He'd still shake his head no, lay his head against anything that covers his mouth (table, floor, sofa, shoulder, etc.) However, after we'd mention being a big boy like Trenton......and maybe the words chocolate..... he'd eventually give in.
Playing with all our new play dough and machines for it.
Bennett loves his tractor! Trenton is learning how to work the power popper gun. He really likes for me to shoot the balls at him and for him to dodge them. Bennett just gets excited chasing the balls all ove the place as we gather to load again. Easy fun!
Balloon rockets! Man, they soar! We ened up having to do them in the middle of the cult de sac because one got stuck in the tree. What a hit with the kiddos! We can't forget the foam in the bath. Trenton learned how to push the button today. Day 1 the blue canister was gone. Day 2, the pink was out. It was completely worth it for the giggles and grins during bathtime!
