A group of my teacher friends ran Atlanta's Hot Chocolate with me this weekend. It was a 15K (9.3 miles) and my longest race ever. Although it was a bitterly cold morning, we were able to hang out in the CNN building before catching the shuttle to Turner Field, the start of the race. That helped so much! The race itself was perfect. I like running in the cold, and it was bright and sunny out. The course weaved up and down Atlanta's hills traveling through various neighborhoods such as Turner Field, Grant Park and the zoo, Inman Park, Georgia State and downtown. Afterwards you received a deluxe bowl of chocolate fondue with various dipping items. It was yummy and well earned! Then, we ate a delicious OK Cafe brunch Looking forward to our next race, ladies!
The 15K runners: Cassie, Allyson, me, Chrissy and Laura. The fabulous chocolate bowl: hot chocolate, chocolate dipping sauce for the banana, rice krispie treat, marshmallow, pretzel, and cookie. Thanks 5K runners for waiting around for us 15Kers! All the Brumby ladies: Amy, Jess, Allyson, Kristin, me, Chrissy, Cassie and Laura (Brittany had already left.)
