Gathering Easter eggs is still a little slightly foreign to 2 year olds. Our neighborhood park was filled with eggs, yet there was no hurry amongst the kids to fill their baskets. (Mommy even spent the last 10 mins picking up the remaining 50 eggs scattered on the grass.) This is probably a good thing in reality. I hate how it bring out greed and selfishness in some children. Nevertheless, it was nice to be outdoors and in the company of our friends as we watched the little ones delight in the fun.
Guess Trenton is showing us how anxious he was to start picking up eggs. Does he look a little confused or is it just me? :)
He did learn that things were inside the eggs this year.
And chocolate was his favorite! (GiGi introduce him to that last weekend!)
Trenton and Rylan pretty much picked up an egg, cracked it open, took the goodies, and dropped in back on the grass.
With Daddy's help, he started getting the hang of placing the eggs in his basket.
Then he seemed to do it on his own, so maybe we'll be set for our church's hunt next weekend.
Madeleine enjoyed the stickers inside and Trenton loved the M&Ms.
Although several other kids were at the hunt this year, this was the same crew from last year. We had to snap a picture to see how they've grown in a year. There is one addition, Kellan, who had just been born last Easter. (Trenton, Nora, Kellan, Madeleine, Rylan) It is funny to notice the girls have their baskets and the boys left them somewhere in the park. Don't you know, Mom, you can't run as fast with a basket in your hand!
