Water, Water Everywhere

It was a wet and wild Sunday after church today.  We put the boys in swim suits to play with the water table at 11 while we, I mean Kevin, washed the car.  When Bennett saw that, he was all about car washing.  Trenton liked to stick to the hose.  That was more fun to him, so needless to say, the grass got a good watering this day.  We napped and went to the pool in the afternoon.  Because Trenton did such a fabulous job swimming, we decided to take the boys for Bruster's ice cream.  What a fun family day!
Cooling down with the water table.
Trenton loved to fill it up (and also spray the car.)
 Soon, the car washing began.
Bennett loved using the sponges.  He's always been one to wipe things down and play pretend.
Dressed in jammies, we grilled out.  Notice the tongs in the back of their shirts.  Bennett was acquired Trenton's ninja tendencies so grilling and ninja turtles went hand in hand.
Bennett grills on his grill while Daddy cooks our steaks!  He's learning from the best of them!  Bruster's came after this yummy dinner.

Buds 4 Life!

When our old neighbors and we moved, our new homes were luckily still close.  We knew we'd get together for playdates and dinners.  Somehow time has gotten away from us.  It's been almost a year and we've only gotten together a handful of times.  Schedules become crazy....hopefully our monthly dinner intentions will be successful from here on out.
Rylan, Trenton, Kellan and Bennett enjoying bike rides in The Miller's culdesac after our pizza dinner.

Hammer and Nail

We also love Home Depot workshop Saturdays.  We made tractor lawn mowers today.  We tie our trips into shopping projects, too, so we bought a staple gun and extra screen so Daddy could fix Trenton's bug box.  Two rough years had led to puncture wounds.  :)

Capturing Lightning Bugs

We had our friends, The Powells, over for dinner while they were in town from Texas.  Unfortunately, two of their boys were sick with strep, but we at least were able to see Kinsey, Justin, Sawyer and Doc (grandpa).  The boys enjoyed playing together and had the most fun with balloon rockets and lightning bugs!
Ms. Kinsey caught one.  Bennett loves his new bug cage and since it is the only one currently working right now, we use it a lot.  Thank goodness he likes the word more and sharing!
Trenton is king of catching!  He gets them faster than any of us.  Bennett is helpful and points them out to us.  Then, he likes for you to capture it, transfer it to his hand, then he can put it in his age all by himself.
Bennett showing where are they with his arms.  He's so adorable when he looks for things!
Mr. Justin and Sawyer add bugs to the box.  They're adding up!
Trenton counts them before he open the cage for the lightning bugs to fly home to their families.

Summer Movies

If you haven't taken advantage of the summer children's movies, DO!  Many theaters offer them.  Ours, less than 5 mins away, is a part of the Georgia Theatre Company and has weekly shows at 10:00 Tues and Thur, and they only cost $1.  Bennett is free and popcorn/drinks are only $1.50.  Opa called us his cheap dates this week when we went to see Despicable Me 2.
Bennett did a great time at his first official movie.....going as a baby didn't count!  He sat still and watch for almost the entire thing.  Now, we did go through about 5 different kinds of snacks, but who's counting, and we only had to stretch our legs on two brief occasions.  (We walked to the restroom and back.)  This is the nice part about having Opa there.  He can stay with Trenton and I can adhere to Bennett's needs.

Imagine It....Bennett is 2

Bennett is 2 today, so we took a special trip to the Children's Museum downtown.  Opa joined us to keep up with these full-speed boys.  We had a great time exploring!
 John Deere boys!
Building and creating their masterpiece!  They worked well together on this project.
Trenton liked to operate the crane that picked up and dumped balls.  Bennett had a great time just watching.
We spelled this in honor of Bennett-Boy!
Painting.....we did this twice!  So much fun!  There were sound activities.  Trenton was the #1 participant at them.  He got the sirens right and was able to dress up like a police officer.
They enjoyed fishing in the play pond.
Then, after naps, we played in the yard and celebrated B's birthday even further.  Granna and Opa gave him a grill, soft frisbee, and bug box (to match his older brother's).  We played with all....and even threw in a game of family baseball!
Trenton liked his popsicle.  Bennett went for the cake.  Bennett holding up two fingers because he's 2!

Enjoying New Goodies

Summer days + new presents =LOTS OF FUN!!
The boys were excited to paint the driveway with neon paint!
Obviously, we stripped them down not knowing if it would stain clothes.   They loved it!
Playing with work bench from GiGi and Papaw!  Opening presents from us on his actual birthday morning.
He got lots of pool toys......a new fishing set, treasure box, splash swords!  Lots of summer fun!
And a car rug!  He likes driving cars around his city!
