Happy Birthday Ms. Buckler!

Trenton, McKenzie, and Isaac enjoyed celebrating Ms. Buckler's birthday with cupcakes.  Thanks for taking such great care of us!

Feels Like Summer

The hose is out and water is everywhere.  The high 80's in April have definitely brought on the need for water in the sunny afternoons.  The fun this day started out with the water table, but Trenton became more into the hose.  I found the two of them laughing in hysterics as Daddy would spray Trenton and Trenton would dance around excitedly in the refreshing water.

Big Boy Bed

We moved Trenton into his big boy room this weekend.  He is very proud of this new event and is willing to show it off to just about anyone.  "My Room.....my room.....," he shouts in glee as he guides you by the hand upstairs and into his big boy room.

We decided not to do much with the room with the intentions of only staying in this house another year.  We kept the queen guest bed there for him and had a Toy Story blanket, which many of you know is a favorite movie for Trenton, already so decided it could replace the duvet.  We only added two toy pieces, his kitchen and a little book sling.  The closet is huge and empty practically so that became his fort.  He especially enjoys playing in there!

So apparently I got everything backwards.  I thought the potty training would have been easier and the big boy bed transition would have been harder.  Why?  How do you keep an active child in a bed?  Playing might be more important than sleeping and it worried me because he had been the best sleeper ever!  Night one.  Trenton was fast asleep nestled between Woody and Buzz Lightyear within 30 mins of books.  He never tried to climb out.  My active child actually stayed still and fell sound asleep right away.  This was very promising!

Next night, same deal.  Trenton was out cold.  Loving this!

It has been interesting to learn more about Trenton's sleeping habits.
1.  He is not a big fan of pillows.  He likes his head smack dab on the mattress.
2.  He has a hard time keeping the covers up. I frequently go in to cover him up because he room is cooler than others in the house and find him in a ball trying to stay warm.
3.  He is a wiggle worm!  My how we find .him in the cutest positions, and I need to say kudos to whoever created the toddler rails because without which our child would have been on the floor by now!

Woody and Buzzlight Year have made the transition great!
Not this neat anymore, but there is a spot for books in Trenton's new room.  Trenton gets 2 books for bed and he loves picking them out!
A nice comfy chair for us to relax in while Trenton plays.
The Trenton stool helps him climb up and down.
This is only one view, but Trenton's closet is wall length and the floor is free for play space.
Trenton climbs up to his bed immediately after we told him about his big boy room and big boy bed.  (We prepared him for the occasion by dressing him in his Woody pajamas.)
He starts dragging pillows into his fort right away.
Nestled between Woody and Buzz, Trenton falls fast asleep.  1st night in big boy bed!
2nd night in big boy bed.
Adorable when sleeping!!!!

Touch a Truck

It was a warm Saturday at Touch a Truck, but well worth ever second there.  Alpharetta really put on a great production having so many exciting trucks for kids to explore and activities for them to partake in.  I'm still not sure whether climbing through trucks or jumping in the bounce houses was Trenton's favorite.  He loved it all!  It was fun to see Mommy's teaching friend Mrs. Brandi and her boys.  We had fabulous Saturday!

Trenton already loves playing driver in Mommy's car, so this was right up his alley!
Oh, and bikes are the coolest thing to this little guy.  How much fun to climb on one?!
Firetrucks have all these awesome buttons and knobs.  What toddler doesn't enjoy pushing and pulling on these?
Trenton really got into the bounce houses.  This one was an obstacle course.  He must have gone through it 10 times before it started getting crowded and Trenton felt trapped by the big kids.
 Between the beams....
 Down the slide......
And then a Popsicle to cool off!  It would be ridiculous not have an ice cream truck at Touch a Truck! :)
The costume characters were fun to see.  Trenton loves giving hugs or high fives to each and every one of them.
Trenton and Jackson get goodie boxes from Two Men and a Truck moving company.
Huge tires were fun to climb in.
 Shade....finally!
The boys spotted the turf baseball fields.  There was no staying off.  Future little leaguers here, I'd say.

Concert in the Square

It is nice to have the square so close.  We sure enjoy the events they host.  We took Trenton to the first Concert in the Square of the year.  He loved carrying his belongings to the concert.  It made him feel like a big boy, and of course, we all know he is quite the helper.  Although we only stayed for the first bit of the concert, it was fun to gather ahead of time for dinner and the pre music.

 Camping chair-check, Case-check......
We stopped by the Big Chicken to grab a picnic dinner.  Biscuits were Trenton's favorite.
The beach chairs were more fun for Trenton because they were so low.
 He loved the space!
Our friends the Powells walked up for a brief visit.  It was fun to play with Hudson, Sawyer and Rollins!
Miss Kelly kept me entertained too!

Cozy Coupe

Trenton usually just drives his cozy coupe around the garage and driveway.  Not today; he was anxious to take it for a spin around the neighborhood.  Thank goodness for the push handle on top so I didn't have to bend over!

 Driving around in my automobile.
Parking it perfectly in the flowerbed in the park.

Let's Mow!

What fun it is to be a boy!  The Wagers men work in the yard and get the grass looking nice for the spring.  Thanks, Trenton, for helping Daddy mow!

Ready Dadda?
Let's start her up!
 Trenton knows how this works!

Trenton a little sidetracked when he sees that Daddy moved his slide to the driveway to cut the the backyard's grass.  Mowing can wait.
I see you back there, Dadda!   Here I come to help some more!

MFUMC

It never fails.  Trenton is in SUCH a church routine.  I cannot emphasize that enough.  And Mommy loves routines because they go so smooth with him.  He gets out of the car asking for Granna and Opa knowing they go there too, walks calmly to church holding our hands, enters the nursery hall and plays with the bus searching for the chair if it is missing, props up his foot asking for his tag, runs down the hall to his classroom, smiles brightly and darts into the room at the sight of his teachers, sits at the table ready for his graham cracker and Sunday School.  All of which, of course, he initiates the pace.  (The adults go to church so that is all we know that happens during that hour.) Then, it continues once we pick him up.  Happy as can be, Trenton hugs his teachers good-bye.  We love how he isn't shy and is so loving with his hugs--he would hug anyone!  What a special quality from God!  With another graham cracker in hand, he joins us to leave.  We don't make it far because he rides the toys outside the nursery door.  Then we hit up the playground as we manuever our way back to the car.  It is funny how he never mentions the playground on the walk to church, but always asks for it afterward.  Of course we don't mind letting him play before leaving.  Church is exciting to this little 2 year old.   Why not let him associate it with all this fun?  We really aren't in hurry to get home either because Trenton typically falls asleep on the 10 minute drive home.  We transition him to his bed and he continues his nap for 3-4 hours worn out from the fun morning.
Trenton is tagged with his "In Training" sticker.  They take a potty break for these children halfway through class.  It is a 28 month and under classroom so I believe he is the only potty trained child currently in there.
He learned how to climb this part recently.
We need Daddy's help to climb this one.
Then, it is down the slide for Trenton!

Kellan's 1st Birthday

Happy 1st Birthday, Kellan!  Living next door, we see the Millers on a regular basis.  Rylan is Trenton's best friend, and Kellan is the closest thing to a brother for him (as of now.)   Trenton has seen Kellan grow from a teeny baby to a toddling one year old.  He used to get a bit jealous when Mommy would hold Kellan and want to sit on my lap that instant, but that changed with time and now he is such a helper.  He brings toys to Kellan so he has something to play with and offers a hand to help him up when he falls.  It is really cute to see and is comforting to know he has this sweet, nurturing side.  He is going to be a great big brother!

Kellan was funny with his cake.  He didn't like it that much.
Trenton loved eating his pizza and juice in the fort.  He came up with this idea all on his own!
Rylan and Trenton play pretend in the fort. Rylan drives while Trenton is on the lookout for pirates.

 Trenton absolutely loved the telescope!

Mommy Wow....

.....I'm a big kid now!  And, Trenton can say that with pride!  Not many toddlers begin potty training at 26 months, but Trenton took potty training under his wing and has become awesome with it.  We wanted to try to accomplish this task as parents before the new baby arrived so gave it a shot at a rather early age, especially for boys.  Yes, it is more work on parents because you are constantly seeking out the nearest restroom when out in public (or hidden bush--thank goodness for boys!) and regularly asking/taking him to try, but it is worth it.  Anyways, we are very proud of Trenton!  We never had to even buy pull-ups, which I heard sometimes confuses kids even more, and we haven't put diapers on once (with the exception of sleeping, of course).  Mommy proudly sports a potty in the back of the jeep, extra underwear in her glove box, a wipes nearby.  We set a potty outside when playing to avoid accidents since he doesn't ever like to stop playing to go.  He occasionally will still ask for M&Ms since we used that as initial motivation, but has thankfully began to forget about the chocolate.  Don't know if that was the best idea or not, but the sticker chart didn't make it very far.  We had to resort to something. :)

Trenton feeds Buzz an M&M as one of his potty treats!
Trenton briefly breaks for a pit stop before continuing playing in the backyard.
