GiGi and PaPaw's Visit
GiGi and PaPaw have been in town visiting us. Trenton loves seeing them, and they have been so helpful taking over the midnight night feeding as well as many other baby tasks. Mommy was able to run errands while Trenton stayed to have fun at home, which was a pleasant treat. He also had his first restaurant experience while they were here when we went to Outback--of course he slept through it all but that's ok. It was funny when the server brought over the sling for the car seat. Daddy wasn't quite sure what it was for and he asked if he needed to put Trenton in it (without the car seat is what he was thinking!) He was so alarmed that the waiter said yes because he didn't want to wake Trenton up nor did he think it was safe for his little body to lay in it. Silly ol' Daddy! :)

Poor Guy!
The machine was a nightmare at first, but it seems to be cooperating a bit more now. Basically, a loud alarm triggers with any change in heart rate (low or high), breathing concerns, or cord malfunction. Of course, cord malfunction is the frequent reason for the sudden panic in our household. The first night Daddy was in charge, and the machine was quickly shut off after alarming numerous times in a row (right as Daddy got back downstairs and sat back down to watch the Olympics!) The next night Mommy disarmed it by midnight after its endless siren. We seemed to be experiencing a pattern here, and we were very frustrated. Needless to say, by night three it only malfunctions twice and here on night four it hasn't malfunctioned yet....cross you fingers!
All in all, we are praying for a good report from the doctor this week and that these little changes make a huge difference in comforting Trenton during the time the reflux acts up--burping and sleeping. He is such a good sport and rarely cries over the matter. That is one of the reason why Mommy and Daddy didn't even think there was an issue in the first place and it took us almost six weeks to bring him in to the doctor. Leave it to first time parents! Hey, it's all a learning process and we're getting better at it!
Beautiful Day
It is a beautiful weekend in Georgia, and we decided to make the best of it. After our friends the Kesslers stopped over, we headed to the Chattahoochee River to walk. It was very crowded but so nice to get outside and exercise a bit. They have a neat paved path that follows the river. It has now been 6 weeks since Trenton was born, so I am cleared to begin my active lifestyle again. I can't wait! We also feel more comfortable taking Trenton out now that he is 6 weeks old so get ready for some adventures!

Happy 1 Month Birthday!
Trenton has learned quite a bit in a month. First, he knows he likes to pull his neck back and stretch his entire body flat when burping. He is so strong with his neck, and it must relieve some pressure being in that position. On the other hand, he still isn't sure about a pacifier because 1) it confuses him since milk doesn't come out and 2) how does it stay in your mouth? You either have to keep placing it back into his mouth or he kind of props his hand against it. Therefore, we are still practicing with a pacifier. He has realized he enjoys spending his wake time in his little lamb infant seat or on his activity mat. As you probably have noticed in several pictures, he is very alert and likes to look around the room at what is going on. Those eyes are still a gorgeous deep blue, and we wonder what color they will end up being. Baths aren't so bad anymore, and he absolutely loves the book Snuggle Up, Sleepy Ones as a bedtime story. That is definitely the go-to book, and Mommy has already memorized the whole thing! He finds Mommy's voice very soothing and just stares while she reads/sings. She has created a special song called "Little Trenton Wagers" to the tune of "Little Bunny FuFu" which also calms Trenton. (Even Daddy and Katherine have begun singing the song because they have heard it so much--so funny!)
It has been a month full of memories! We cherish every moment with this precious guy and can't wait for what is ahead!
It is hard to believe this is the outfit he wore home from the hospital. It is still pretty big on him.
He is just so sweet!
He's a squirmy one!
This is how Trenton tries to keep the pacifier in his mouth. It doesn't last long. It looks so big in his little mouth!
